School Information

LeTort Elementary School is one of seven elementary schools in the Carlisle Area School District. The LeTort Stream and The Old Cemetery border our building, which was constructed in 1936. Our goal at LeTort is to make all students and their families feel welcome in a safe, secure, and nurturing educational environment. We want to create home/school partnerships that promote a learning environment where all students can be successful now and in the future.

Cemetary

A learning-focused school combines a dedicated, caring staff with a curriculum that provides a rich learning atmosphere. The Carlisle Area School District’s curriculum focuses on developing reading, math and writing skills so that students may find success in other curricular areas. Music, health, art, library, and physical education provide a well-balanced learning environment for the students. In addition, LeTort offers a wide range of extracurricularactivities for students including basketball and track, band, chorus and orchestra to name a few. Students in fourth and fifth grade can also elect to take instrumental lessons during the school day.

At LeTort we recognize parents as an integral part of the educational team. Parents are welcome and encouraged to volunteer in their child's classroom or get involved in the many school wide activities. Contact your child’s teacher to set up a schedule to help at school. Please come to school to eat lunch with your child. Order a school lunch by 9 A.M. or bring your own. We invite you to be part of our learning family.

Our active PTO plans many social events for students and teachers throughout the school year where all parents are invited to participate. PTO meetings are streamlined and committees meet only as necessary. The majority of the PTO time is invested in volunteering and creating programs to enhance the learning environment. Parents, teachers and community members support our volunteer programs as we focus on our learning community.
