2014 YAM Flag Winner

YAM 2014 Flag Design

Each year, the National Art Education Association (NAEA)
holds a nationwide event for Youth Art2014 YAM Flag Winner Month (YAM), called School Flags Across the U.S. Flying High. Schools throughout the United States were asked to hold flag design competitions. Each state selected one design which will be made into a 3’ x 5’ flag and flown in Washington, D.C. during the month of March. This year, Isabelle McDonough’s design was selected as the elementary winner for Pennsylvania. Although Isabelle’s design will not be used to create the final flag flown in DC during March Arts Month, we are very proud that her flag was chosen as Pennsylvania’s Elementary Division winner. Isabelle McDonough is a 4th grade student at Letort Elementary School. Isabelle created her entry under the guidance of art teacher, Demi Hauseman. This is the third year in a row that the work of a student in Mrs. Hauseman’s art classes has won the YAM Flag Contest.
